The purpose of the Business Exterior Improvement Matching Grant Program is to improve the appearance of the commercial and industrial areas within the Monroe Area by providing incentives that encourage local businesses to invest in their property.

Grant Information

Matching grants are available for amounts up to $5,000 per project. The recipient must match the grant funds with an equal or greater amount of money or services. There is no minimum grant amount. The grant award will be reimbursed to the recipient once the CIC has received appropriate documentation of the costs and determined that the project is complete.

Eligible Applicants

Eligible applicants are new and existing businesses throughout the Monroe Area, which is defined by the CIC as the City of Monroe and Lemon Township. Applicants must be current on all zoning requirements and taxes. Applicants may only receive funding once every 2 years.

Eligible Projects

Eligible projects include, but are not limited to, landscaping projects and improvements to exterior signage, building facades, or parking lots.
